Anemia

Anemia, in which body tissues are deprived of oxygen, is caused by reduction in the number of circulating red blood cells. This is also caused by less amount of the essential protein hemoglobin. The severity can rang from mild to life threatening. Anemia can occurs if large amount of blood are lost or if something disturb the production of red blood cells or accelerates their destruction. We know that hemoglobin is the main component of red blood cells and the carrier for the oxygen molecules, anemia also occurs if the hemoglobin is insufficient or dysfunctional.

More than 400 types of anemia have been discovered. Some of which due to hereditary, but in the many cases poor diet is the main cause for anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is the leading form of anemia where the body does not store the sufficient iron. The iron is the main raw material of the hemoglobin.
